Eating the same old porridge every morning can get a bit boring so why not try this variation on a theme using grated apple, cinnamon and raisins.
If you are trying to keep your sugar levels low then feel free to leave the raisins or the banana out but they add a lovely sweet hit….
Ingredients: serves 2
1 apple, peeled, cored & grated
450ml almond milk
large pinch cinnamon
2 heaped tbsp. almond or cashew nut butter
1 banana, sliced
Put the oats, apple, milk and cinnamon in a saucepan on medium heat.
Stir gently but continuously for 3-4 minutes until the oats have absorbed the milk.
Add the nut butter and stir until combined. Then add the sliced banana and raisins if using. Stir again.
